FAQ: Carnivore Rolls 2.0
Alright, carnivore connoisseurs, I know you have burning questions about my Carnivore Rolls 2.0, and I’ve got answers hotter than your preheated oven! And because my FAQ sections are never complete without a dash of humor, prepare for some entertaining tidbits along the way. Let’s dive in!
Can I substitute the ricotta with another cheese?
While ricotta is the secret weapon in this recipe, you can use cottage cheese if you absolutely must. Just make sure to process it very fine in a food processor or blender. But trust me, ricotta is where the magic happens—that’s why I have used it purposefully in this recipe!
Can I make these rolls without a mixer?
Why not? If you enjoy a good arm workout, go ahead and beat those eggs by hand. Just be prepared for your biceps to look like Popeye’s by the end of it. Maybe.
How long do these rolls keep?
These rolls are best enjoyed fresh, but they can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to one week. If they last that long without being devoured, you’re stronger than I am.
Can I freeze the rolls?
Yes, you can! Just make sure to let them cool completely before freezing. When you’re ready to eat, thaw them out and give them a quick warm-up in the oven. They’ll be almost as good as fresh.
Can I make a bigger batch and freeze them for later?
Absolutely! This recipe is perfect for food prepping. You can double or triple the ingredients with the same effort, bake a bigger batch, and freeze the extra rolls. Just let them cool completely before freezing, and when you’re ready to eat, thaw and warm them up in the oven. Meal prep like a carnivore champ!
I accidentally used 1 cup of butter instead of 1 tablespoon. What now?
Congratulations, you’ve created the world’s first carnivore butter soup! Maybe serve it with a straw? Or start over and follow the recipe this time.
Are these rolls suitable for non-carnivores?
You bet! These rolls are so delicious, they might just convert a few herbivores. Just don’t tell them what’s in it until after they’ve taken a bite. But seriously, these rolls are perfect for anyone avoiding gluten, grains, and carbs.
Can I add other ingredients to the batter?
Feel free to get creative! Bacon bits, cheese, or even a sprinkle of herbs can add a fun twist. Just remember, too many extras might turn your rolls into a culinary Frankenstein. I’ve included some great options for variations in the Tips for Variations section toward the end of this post to keep your rolls delectable.
Can I use these rolls as weights for my workout?
While these rolls are sturdy, I wouldn’t recommend bench pressing them. Stick to eating them and leave the heavy lifting to your dumbbells.
Can I use these rolls as hockey pucks?
Even though these rolls hold extremely well together, they’re not quite NHL material. Just eat them, and get a real hockey puck for your hockey games.

How I Came Up with This Easy Carnivore Rolls Recipe
If you’ve been following me, you know I’m all about the carnivore diet—haven’t touched a veggie in over two years, and guess what? Still kicking and feeling fantastic! It’s no surprise my blog is nowadays mostly a plant-free paradise.
A few weeks ago, I shared a Carnivore Bread Loaf recipe inspired by one of my Finnish follower’s Instagram posts. His bread used my pork rinds, so naturally, I had to give it a go. I tweaked it a bit and ended up with a solid, sturdy loaf. But then I thought, why stop at bread? I wanted something more practical: carnivore rolls.
Now, I already had a roll recipe, but let’s be honest, those rolls were slightly on the dry side and according to my readers’ comments, their gelatin had a mind of its own. So, I decided to remix my bread loaf recipe into rolls. I ditched the gelatin (who needs that drama?) and adjusted the ingredients to fit my 4-cavity silicone hot dog mold (available in my Finnish online store, hint, hint!).
The result? Sturdy, slightly moist rolls that are the perfect blank canvas for all your favorite fillings. I couldn’t be happier with how these carnivore rolls turned out! Needless to say, I’ve stocked a few dozen in my freezer so I can pop one in the microwave whenever I need a quick and satisfying lunch—or dinner!
Here’s the recipe for you to enjoy:

General Prattling
What a rollercoaster of a week it’s been! On the one hand, I had the absolute joy of serving my wonderful Finnish customers and nutrition therapy clients. There’s nothing quite like seeing the smiles on their faces when they rave about my clean keto products, or when a client has that “aha” moment about their health.
But, the week wasn’t all sunshine and successful carnivore rolls. My poor cat decided this was the week to get ill, leading to a couple of stressful trips to the vet. Trying to balance packing orders with one hand while comforting a quiet, suffering cat with the other wasn’t exactly what I had planned!
Thankfully, after some effective treatment, my feline friend bounced back and is now as talkative and lively as ever. She’s back to her usual antics, meowing for attention (and treats) and demanding to be the queen of the house. So, while the week had its ups and downs, I’m relieved to end it on a high note with a healthy cat and happy customers. Here’s to hoping next week is a bit less eventful—at least when it comes to health issues!
